Q.E.D.

Thus it's shown

Q.E.D. is an abbreviation of the Latin *quod erat demonstrandum*, meaning "which was to be demonstrated." It traditionally appears at the end of mathematical proofs to signal the argument is complete.

In casual use, Q.E.D. announces that something has been proven or that a point is settled: He said he'd never show up on time, and look—he's late again. Q.E.D.
