Oliver Hardy

Oliver Hardy (1892–1957) was an American comic actor, the heavier half of the Laurel and Hardy duo.

With Stan Laurel, he made over a hundred comedy films between 1927 and 1951.

Hardy played the pompous, long-suffering foil to Laurel's childlike bumbler—his exasperated tie-twiddle and slow burn into the camera became signature gestures.

The pair's slapstick shorts and features remain influential in comedy.
