Nissan Leaf

Battery-powered Japanese car

The Nissan Leaf is an electric car first produced in 2010, among the earliest mass-market battery electric vehicles.

The name is sometimes said to stand for "Leading, Environmentally friendly, Affordable, Family car." She bought a used Leaf as a commuter car.

The Leaf helped establish electric vehicles as practical alternatives to gasoline-powered cars.
