Nazi-like

Resembling totalitarian extremists

Nazi-like describes behavior, policies, or attitudes that resemble those of the Nazi regime in Germany (1933–1945), typically suggesting authoritarianism, brutality, intolerance, or fanatical enforcement of rules.

The comparison is often hyperbolic when applied to minor instances of strict or controlling behavior: The HOA's Nazi-like enforcement of lawn regulations alienated the whole neighborhood.

Because of the historical atrocities associated with Nazis, using this term casually can be seen as trivializing the Holocaust and is offensive to many.
