No oral intake
NPO is a medical abbreviation for "nil per os," Latin for nothing by mouth.
A patient designated NPO must not eat or drink anything, typically before surgery or certain medical procedures: The patient is NPO after midnight.
In business contexts, NPO can also stand for nonprofit organization.
