Melmac
Midcentury picnic dishes
Melmac is a brand name for melamine dinnerware—lightweight, durable plastic dishes popular from the 1940s through 1970s.
The material resists breaking, making it practical for everyday use and outdoor dining.
Melmac became so ubiquitous that the brand name is sometimes used generically for any melamine tableware: We used the old Melmac for the picnic.
