LATCH

Child restraint standard

LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) is the U.S. version of Isofix, a standardized system for securing child safety seats in vehicles without using seat belts.

Introduced in 2002, it uses metal anchors embedded in the car’s frame and a top tether strap to prevent seat movement during collisions.

Unlike seat belts, LATCH minimizes installation errors by providing fixed attachment points.

Make sure the car seat is properly secured using the LATCH system.
