Janet Yellen

Janet Yellen is an American economist who served as Chair of the Federal Reserve (2014–2018) and Secretary of the Treasury (2021–2025)—the first woman to hold either position.

Her name often appears in discussions of monetary policy, inflation, and economic management: Yellen signaled the Fed would raise rates gradually.
