Haji
Sacred journey title
Haji is an honorific for a Muslim who has completed the hajj—the pilgrimage to Mecca that Islam requires of believers at least once.
The title precedes a name: Haji Abdullah.
In U.S. military slang from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, haji became a derogatory term for Arabs or Middle Easterners generally, regardless of religion.
