Golden Bear
Prestigious film award
Golden Bear most often refers to Jack Nicklaus, the legendary professional golfer who won eighteen major championships.
The nickname comes from his blond hair and association with the University of California, Berkeley, whose athletic teams are called the Golden Bears.
The term also appears as a mascot name and as the top prize at the Berlin International Film Festival.
