Germanisation
Imposing German identity
Germanisation is the process of making something German in character, language, or culture.
Historically, it refers to policies forcing German language and customs on non-German populations, particularly in territories under German or Prussian control: the Germanisation of Polish schools in the 19th century.
More neutrally, it can describe any adoption of German practices or linguistic features.
Also spelled Germanization.
