German Alps
Central European highlands
The German Alps are the portion of the Alps mountain range located in southern Germany, primarily in Bavaria.
They form Germany's border with Austria and include peaks, alpine meadows, and resort towns like Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Though smaller than the Austrian or Swiss sections, they're popular for skiing and hiking: We spent a week in the German Alps.
