Gatorade shower
Champion's cold bath
A Gatorade shower is the celebratory act of dumping a cooler of Gatorade (or water) over a coach's head after a major victory, especially in American football.
The tradition began in the NFL in the 1980s and has spread to other sports.
By extension, any drenching celebration: The team gave their coach a Gatorade shower after winning the championship.
