Follies

Lavish theatrical revues

Follies, always plural in this sense, names a type of theatrical revue featuring elaborate costumes, music, and showgirls—most famously the Ziegfeld Follies that ran on Broadway from 1907 to 1931.

The format influenced later variety shows and remains a nostalgic reference point for glamorous stage entertainment.

Separately, follies is simply the plural of folly: the follies of youth.
