Falco

Genus of kestrels

Falco is a genus of birds of prey that includes falcons, kestrels, and hobbies—swift, agile hunters characterized by pointed wings and notched beaks adapted for killing prey.

The genus contains about 40 species found worldwide, from the tiny pygmy falcon to the powerful gyrfalcon.

In popular culture, Falco was also the stage name of Austrian musician Johann Hölzel, known for the 1986 hit "Rock Me Amadeus."
