Edvard Grieg
Peer Gynt composer
Edvard Grieg (1843–1907) was a Norwegian composer whose music helped define Scandinavian Romanticism.
His Peer Gynt suites and Piano Concerto in A minor remain among the most performed works of the nineteenth century.
Grieg drew heavily on Norwegian folk melodies, giving his compositions a distinctive national character that influenced later Nordic composers.
