Dravidians

South Asian peoples

Dravidians are an ethnolinguistic group native to South Asia, primarily southern India and Sri Lanka.

The term encompasses speakers of Dravidian languages—including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam—and often refers to the broader cultural and genetic heritage predating Indo-Aryan migration to the subcontinent.

Dravidian architecture features distinctive temple towers called gopurams.
