Dijkstra's algorithm
Shortest route finder
Dijkstra's algorithm is a method for finding the shortest path between nodes in a weighted graph, fundamental to computer science and network routing.
Named for Dutch computer scientist Edsger Dijkstra, it works by systematically exploring paths from a starting node, always extending the shortest known path until reaching the destination.
GPS navigation and internet packet routing rely on variations of this algorithm.
