Devil's Bridge
Demonic construction myth
Devil's Bridge is a name given to dozens of ancient stone bridges across Europe, typically arched structures in remote or dramatic settings.
Local legends attribute their construction to the devil, usually through a bargain in which Satan builds the bridge in exchange for the first soul to cross it—a deal invariably outwitted by the humans involved.
