Mark II
Improved second model
Mark II designates the second version or iteration of something, typically a machine, weapon, or product line.
The term comes from military and industrial practice of numbering successive models with Roman numerals: The Mark II tank addressed flaws in the original design.
It implies improvement over the first version while maintaining the basic concept.
Mark I, Mark III, and so on follow the same pattern.
