Villainous robotic faction
A Decepticon is a member of the evil faction of transforming robots in the Transformers franchise, opposed to the heroic Autobots.
The name combines "deception" with a suffix suggesting mechanical beings.
In casual use, calling someone a Decepticon implies they're untrustworthy or secretly working against you: I knew that guy was a Decepticon the moment he smiled at me.
