Small music discs
CD singles are compact discs containing one or two songs, sold as promotional items or cheaper alternatives to full albums.
Popular from the late 1980s through the early 2000s, they typically included a hit song plus B-sides or remixes: I bought the CD single just for the radio edit.
The format largely disappeared as digital downloads replaced physical music sales.
