Ben Carson
Ben Carson is an American neurosurgeon and politician who gained fame for pioneering pediatric neurosurgery, including the first successful separation of conjoined twins joined at the head.
He ran for president in 2016 and served as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under Donald Trump.
Carson is often cited as an example of achievement rising from poverty, though his political career drew criticism for statements seen as uninformed or eccentric.
