Ayrshire
Burns's home region
Ayrshire is a historic county in southwestern Scotland, on the Firth of Clyde.
The name also designates a breed of dairy cattle originating there—medium-sized, typically red and white, known for producing milk well-suited to cheesemaking.
The farm kept a herd of Ayrshires.
