Afros
Big natural hairstyles
Afros is the plural of Afro, a hairstyle in which naturally curly hair is shaped into a large, rounded mass.
The style became a symbol of Black pride and identity during the civil rights era of the 1960s and 70s: Afros were everywhere at the concert.
The term derives from African American or Afro-American.
