ALU
Processor's math engine
In computing, ALU stands for arithmetic logic unit—the component of a processor that performs mathematical operations and logical comparisons.
The ALU handles addition, subtraction, and bitwise operations, forming the computational core of any CPU.
The ALU executes the actual calculations while other components manage data flow. (Lowercase alu is a South Asian word for potato.)
