xeriscaped

Landscaped without irrigation

Xeriscaped describes a landscape designed to minimize water use, typically featuring drought-tolerant plants, efficient irrigation, and mulch or gravel instead of thirsty lawns: Their xeriscaped yard looked beautiful even during the drought.

The practice originated in arid Western states but has spread wherever water conservation matters.

The verb is xeriscape; the noun xeriscaping.
