writer's guild
Screenwriters' collective organization
A writer's guild is a professional organization representing writers in a particular industry, typically film and television.
These guilds negotiate contracts, set minimum pay rates, and protect members' interests through collective bargaining.
The most prominent is the Writers Guild of America, whose strikes have halted Hollywood production: The writer's guild won streaming residuals in the 2023 contract.
