word art
Text as decoration
Word art refers to text styled with decorative effects—shadows, curves, gradients, or three-dimensional appearances.
The term became widespread through Microsoft Word's WordArt feature, which let users transform plain text into eye-catching graphics.
Word art is associated with amateur design and 1990s aesthetics: The flyer was covered in rainbow word art.
More broadly, word art can mean any visual art incorporating text as a primary element.
