wishing stone
Hope-granting pebble
A wishing stone is a stone believed to grant wishes when found or touched, often identified by a distinctive marking—typically a complete ring or line encircling it.
The tradition varies by region: some hold you make a wish upon finding one, others that you throw it into water.
