wine waiter
Cellar service professional
A wine waiter is a restaurant employee who specializes in wine service—presenting the wine list, making recommendations, opening and pouring bottles, and advising on food pairings.
The formal term is sommelier, but wine waiter is the plain English equivalent: The wine waiter suggested a Burgundy to accompany the duck.
