wine snob
Sommelier without humility
A wine snob is someone who makes a show of superior knowledge about wine, often dismissing others' preferences as unsophisticated.
The term is almost always pejorative, suggesting pretension rather than genuine expertise: He's such a wine snob—he won't drink anything under thirty dollars.
Wine snobs may obsess over vintages, regions, and proper glassware while looking down on casual drinkers.
