wheelchair space
Reserved accessibility area
A wheelchair space is a designated area in a vehicle, venue, or public space where a person using a wheelchair can position themselves.
Transit systems reserve wheelchair spaces on buses and trains, often with fold-up seats that ambulatory passengers must vacate when needed.
Theaters, stadiums, and airplanes similarly designate spots where wheelchairs can be accommodated safely: The wheelchair spaces are near the front of the auditorium.
