platform lift
Wheelchair accessibility device
A platform lift is a mechanical device that raises and lowers a flat surface to move people or goods between levels.
Unlike stairs or escalators, platform lifts accommodate wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and those who cannot climb steps: The theater installed a platform lift for wheelchair access to the stage.
They appear in homes, public buildings, and vehicles.
