weekend tournaments
Off-day sporting events
Weekend tournaments are competitive events—typically in sports, gaming, or other organized activities—scheduled across Saturday and Sunday to accommodate participants who work or attend school during the week.
Youth sports leagues rely heavily on weekend tournaments, as do amateur chess clubs and video game competitions.
The soccer team has three weekend tournaments this spring.
