war eagle
Plains Indians' raptor
War eagle is a battle cry and rallying call associated with Auburn University, used by fans and alumni to express enthusiasm and school spirit: War eagle!
Despite the phrase, Auburn's mascot is actually a tiger—the eagle connection comes from Auburn tradition and legend rather than the official mascot.
The expression functions as both greeting and exclamation among the Auburn community.
