A voice of doom is a person who persistently predicts disaster or catastrophe, or the tone such predictions take.
The phrase often carries mild mockery—the voice of doom may be exaggerating or habitually pessimistic: Every meeting, he's the voice of doom, warning us about budget cuts.
Sometimes used self-awarely: I don't mean to be the voice of doom, but those clouds look serious.
