vocal scales
Warm-up pitch sequences
Vocal scales are musical exercises for singers, ascending and descending through a sequence of notes to develop range, control, and pitch accuracy.
Like scales practiced on an instrument, they serve as warm-ups and training: She ran through her vocal scales before the audition.
The term also appears in voice therapy for rehabilitating damaged vocal cords.
