virtual desktop
Remote computer interface
A virtual desktop is a simulated computer desktop environment that exists as software rather than physical hardware.
In one sense, it refers to multiple workspaces on a single computer, letting users organize windows across separate screens they can switch between: I keep email on one virtual desktop and coding on another.
In another sense, it describes a complete desktop environment hosted on a remote server and accessed over a network, common in corporate settings where employees connect to centralized systems from any device.
