view halloo
Huntsman's sighting call
View halloo is a shout given in fox hunting when the quarry is spotted—traditionally a loud, sustained cry to alert other hunters that the fox has broken cover.
The term extends to any triumphant call announcing discovery: She gave a view halloo when she found the missing document.
