venti

Italian for score

Venti is Starbucks' proprietary term for a twenty-ounce drink size, larger than grande and smaller than trenta.

The Italian word for twenty, it joined Starbucks' pseudo-Italian sizing system in the 1990s.

Outside Starbucks, the term is rarely used: I'll have a venti iced coffee.

The word has become shorthand for corporate-speak absurdity in size naming.
