vandyke
Chin-point facial hair
A vandyke is a short, pointed beard, often paired with a mustache—named for the style worn by subjects in portraits by the 17th-century Flemish painter Anthony van Dyck.
The term also refers to a deeply notched or scalloped edge on fabric or lace, resembling the pointed collars in those same paintings: a vandyke border on the tablecloth.
