urban guerrilla
Metropolitan rebel fighter
An urban guerrilla is a fighter who conducts irregular warfare in cities rather than rural terrain—using sabotage, ambushes, and hit-and-run tactics against military or government targets.
The term emerged in the 1960s-70s with leftist revolutionary movements: The urban guerrillas bombed the police station and vanished into the neighborhood.
Unlike conventional soldiers, urban guerrillas blend into civilian populations between operations.
