upslopes
Hills going up
Upslopes is the plural of upslope—terrain that rises in elevation, or the act of moving toward higher ground.
In meteorology, upslope conditions occur when air is forced up a mountainside, often producing clouds and precipitation: Upslope winds brought heavy snow to the foothills.
The word also functions as a verb: The trail upslopes gradually toward the ridge.
