untune
Make discordant deliberately
To untune is to put out of tune—a musical instrument, a radio, or figuratively, a state of harmony.
Shakespeare used it of emotional disruption: Untune that string, and hark what discord follows.
The word remains literary, appearing mostly in contexts of disorder or disharmony: The news untuned her calm.
