Unsporting describes behavior that violates the spirit of fair play or good sportsmanship.
In athletics, an unsporting foul is one that shows disregard for the opponent's safety or the game's integrity.
The word extends beyond sports to any conduct considered unfair or ungentlemanly: It seemed unsporting to bring up his past failures.
