unseize
Free stuck mechanism
To unseize is to release something that has been seized or locked up.
Mechanical parts that have seized—frozen in place from rust, heat, or friction—can be unseized with lubricant or force: I finally unseized the rusted bolt with penetrating oil.
The word also applies to releasing frozen assets or lifting legal seizures: The court order unseized his bank accounts.
