union delegates
Elected worker spokespeople
Union delegates are workers elected or appointed to represent their coworkers in dealings with management and the broader union structure.
They handle grievances, communicate union policies, and advocate for members at the workplace level: The union delegates met with HR to discuss the new safety protocols.
In larger organizations, delegates may also attend regional or national union conventions to vote on leadership and policy.
