unhang
Remove from hook
To unhang is to remove something from where it hangs—taking a picture down from a wall, a coat from a hook, or curtains from a rod: We unhung the old paintings before the renovation.
The word also appears in computing contexts for unfreezing a stalled program: I finally managed to unhang the browser.
Past tense: unhung.
