unglaze
Strip the shine
To unglaze is to remove glaze from something—typically a window or ceramic surface.
Windows are unglazed when their glass panes are taken out; pottery might be unglazed by stripping its glossy coating.
More often, unglazed describes things that never had glaze applied: unglazed terra-cotta pots, an unglazed window frame open to the elements.
